Author's Notes
-----------------------------------------------------
For this map, I tried to capture the core of what makes most VCTF maps fun, whilst also adding something very new. In this map, players can use the environment to a much greater effect thanks to the animated movers including two trains and a Cargo Boat.
Gameplay: This map features a coastal city divided by a river running through it. Although a suspension bridge offers a means by which to cross the river, there are in fact many ways for a flag carrier to get across the river:
-Take the train! Every few minutes a train shows up at the station. Ride on it's roof to get across the river
-Take the boat! A Cargo boat hauls cargo back and forth across the river. Ride on the boat deck, but beware of enemies who might be doing the same.
-Fly across! Both the cicada and manta can sail across the water in no time. Helping a teammate grapple across is a good idea too!
-Swim! A bit slower than taking the bridge, but possibly offers the most stealthy way to enter the opposing area.
Overall, the map is designed such that the team with the best balance of defence, offense and strategy should quickly prevail. The map is also designed to accommodate a large number of players.
Visual: I wanted to give the map an early-morning, 9 or 10 am kind of feel. Like the day is just getting started. I also wanted to make ample use of varied color and geometry to make each building in the map very unique in appearance so that players can look at almost any view and immediately get their bearings and also just feel as though they are in a very diverse setting.
Overall, I hope players enjoy my unique style and perspective on this warfare map.
